About Us
Who We Are
Boys Champions Foundation is a primary preventive nonprofit working with boys and men to change the norms that drive inequality. We work at the intersection of caring masculinity, gender equality, and men’s mental health. Founded in 2018, we help boys grow into men who are self-aware, empathetic, and confident, while challenging the harmful gender norms that limit them and those around them.
We work with boys in classrooms and on football pitches, spaces where conversations about identity, responsibility, and relationships can happen naturally, and with men in communities and workplaces through Fellowships and peer Circles, where men learn to handle anger, repair relationships, and live with more honesty. We also engage fathers, educators, traditional rulers, and religious leaders, those who shape boys’ beliefs long before any programme reaches them. By helping boys understand that strength includes empathy and responsibility, they become better friends, sons, brothers, and community members.
Boys Champions exists to make this change systematic, scalable, and permanent. In eight years, we have reached 26,476 boys/men directly and indirectly, partnered with 54 schools, trained over 500 parents and educators, supported 489 alumni, and shifted the attitudes of 70% of our participants on gender-based violence. As these boys grow, the impact naturally extends to the girls, families, and communities around them. And we’re only getting started.
Engaging boys and men to advance gender equality, prevent violence, expand economic opportunities for women and girls, and strengthen healthier communities.

The Problem We’re Solving
Across Nigeria, boys are growing up through harmful gender norms, thereby lacking the tools to understand emotions, relationships, and responsibility. This silence fuels violence, inequality, and poor mental health outcomes.
Millions of boys are out of school, and many more are navigating emotional distress without support.

I used to think crying made me weak. Now I know that talking about my feelings makes me stronger and helps me understand myself better. It also helps me be a better friend to those around me.
