Focus Area
Caring Masculinity
Boys Champions teaches boys that true strength is empathy, accountability, and care. We work where harmful instructions about manhood are passed; in homes, schools, peer groups, we help boys and men develop healthy, caring masculinity. On the football pitch, in the gym, this becomes visible in real time, how a boy responds to a teammate’s mistake, how he handles losing, how he chooses respect over aggression, or how a man shows up for himself.
Gender Equality
You cannot build it without the people who hold the power. Inequality is sustained by men. Engaging boys and men early shows up in the choices they make, reshaping daily life; boys manage conflict without violence, fathers model care, and educators shape safer classrooms.
Men’s Mental Health
Silence is not strength. Boys and men are under enormous pressure to suffer quietly, and Nigeria lacks mental health infrastructure for them. Boys Champions provides toll-free crisis lines, school-based counselling, and CHAMP AI, accessible via WhatsApp anytime, giving boys and men immediate support when they need it most.
Violence Prevention
GBV begins with belief, not an act. Boys Champions addresses the root causes of violence, long before harmful beliefs become permanent. Every programme, from Boys to Men in schools to DearMen fellowships, Sports Against Violence, and our crisis response, works to prevent violence by shaping beliefs, not just responding to incidents. In spaces like the football pitch, boys practice these values in real time, learning to resolve conflict without aggression and to treat others with respect, even in moments of pressure.
