Dr. Augustine Achu is an international affairs and security cooperation professional with expertise in strategic engagement, program management, policy analysis, and international partnerships. His career spans government, nonprofit, and military service, and he has led initiatives that strengthen collaboration, advance organizational objectives, and support international development and security goals. He currently serves as an International Program Specialist with the U.S. Department of the Navy.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Achu served as Director of Programs and Partnerships for Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, and South Asia with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), where he developed and managed partnerships and programs across multiple countries and continents. His work focused on building sustainable relationships, fostering cross-cultural engagement, and expanding organizational impact globally. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Achu’s military service includes duties as an Anti-Tank Guided Missileman and Civil Affairs Specialist. He holds a doctorate and three master’s degrees in political science, international relations and diplomacy, and international peace and conflict resolution. He is passionate about international security, diplomacy, leadership, and public service.
