Ruth Okafor is a governance, public policy, and stakeholder engagement professional with over six years of experience advancing accountability, citizen-centred reforms, and systems strengthening across Nigeria. Her work spans government relations, policy analysis, programme strategy, and multi-stakeholder engagement across the governance, agriculture, gender, youth, and education sectors. She currently serves as a Government Relations Specialist at One Acre Fund, where she is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Global Government Relations Team.

Over the course of her career, Ruth has managed and implemented international development programmes, built and coordinated networks of more than 120 advocates, and contributed to the domestication and implementation of key reforms, including the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, Freedom of Information Act, Disability Act, and Child Rights and Child Protection legislation at the subnational level. Her work has contributed to policy wins such as the adoption of the Disability Act in Osun State and Yobe State and the Child Protection Act in Kano State. Ruth is deeply interested in governance reform, institutional effectiveness, public accountability, and the role of policy in building systems that work for citizens.
